What's it like to commission you for a Custom Kigurumi?

Check out our What to Expect guide, as well as some of our past client reviews!

What is a kigurumi?

Kigurumi originated in Japan and are giant comfy adult-sized animal pajamas. They are often worn to parties and conventions, but are also perfect for just lounging around the house.

I want one! How do I order a kigurumi?

We hand make our kigus on a made-to-order basis, and each requires a price quote in order to ensure your project includes everything you're looking for. We'll periodically have openings once we're ready to take on a few more projects, so keep an eye on our website and twitter or join our mailing list to be notified when we may open next. The process is usually as follows:

1. Check to see if we're open for new projects or when we may open next.

2. If we're open, a button will appear that links to our quote form-- fill it out and submit your design to receive a price quote. We usually receive many more submissions than we have open slots for, so we usually only send out quotes to designs that we think will work best with our workflow!

3. Accept the quote if it works for you, and the project can begin!

Can I get a quote?

If our commissions are closed, we’re usually closed for quotes. Check out our kigurumi page for our general price range!

What are your prices?

Check out our kigurumi page!

Do you do payment plans?

Somewhat! Our slots have a short turnaround time, so you'll have until the first of your slot month to pay us in full. We'll send you an invoice for the total, so you can feel free to pay towards that in chunks if you need!

What sorts of payment do you take?

Currently we only accept payment through PayPal.

When are you opening for new projects?

If it isn’t listed on our site, we’re not sure! Follow us on twitter or subscribe to our mailing list if you’d like a heads up before we open.

How old do I need to be to commission you?

For custom commissions, we only work with customers 18 years old or older.

Do you take fursuit head commissions?

Sometimes! Fursuit head commission slots are very limited, join our mailing list if you'd like to be notified when we're opening! We do not make other fursuit parts at this time.

Can I buy something shown in your kigurumi gallery?

Sorry, no. All of the projects shown in our gallery are one-of-a-kind custom handmade items created for each client. If there’s something specific you like about a certain kigu and you’d like to see that incorporated into your commission, we’ll see what we can do!

How long will my project take?

Once your slot is up in our queue, you can expect your kigu to take about a month from concept art to completion. Keep in mind that we usually have a queue so there may be a short wait before your project actually starts! We'll always be upfront and transparent with project times and provide lots of updates to keep you in the loop, and you an always view our queue here.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes! We’re based in the USA, so any additional customs and import fees are the responsibility of the client As always, the client pays for shipping.

Will you make my kigu out of minky/cuddle fleece/felt?

No, sorry! We only use fleece.

Do you make hoodies? I saw one in your gallery.

Not at this time, sorry!

Can my kigu have a zipper instead of buttons?

No, sorry! We've found that zippers don't tend to work well with the baggy nature of most kigus, so we only use buttons.

Do you use real fur in your costumes?

Nope! All of our fur is faux fur and feature no animal products what-so-ever.

Can I send you materials to use in my project?

Maybe! If you'd like to send fabric to match an existing costume, let us know during the submission process. We'll need it before your slot month!

Where do you get your materials? What sewing machines/tools do you use?
